ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. (WNDU) – Purchasing diapers can be an enormous cost for families.
That’s why Ready to Grow St. Joe is holding a diaper drive throughout the month of May to help ease that massive expense for families in need. Starting May 1st, large boxes will be at numerous locations throughout St. Joseph County, including Martin’s Super Markets and United Way.
Anyone can drop off diapers of any size in the boxes. Ready to Grow St. Joe is also asking for the donation of baby wipes.
All of the items will be collected by the Food Bank of Northern Indiana, who will then distribute them to families in need.
“We want to raise awareness about how important it is to support families’ entire needs, and one of them is just supporting the cost of diapers,” said Ready to Grow St. Joe Coordinator Emily Rupchock. “Families a lot of times have to choose between providing a meal for their family or providing a clean diaper. And when families have multiple children, the cost of those diapers is just really overwhelming.”
